February activities

TexLUG-Houston provided displays at four events in February.

On Feb. 16, four members went to Lobit Middle School in Dickinson for LEViaCon, a comic-con themed event for young teens.  Displays included custom Star Wars® models, a city scene with superheroes, large-scale cars, and a train from the Harry Potter movies. Photos can be found in a Facebook album.

Both days of that same weekend found 8-9 TexLUG-Houston members at the Children’s Museum of Houston.  Models included two train/town layouts, an airport, and a historical recreation of the Alamo.  Photos are below.

The next weekend, Feb. 23, nine members of TexLUG-Houston set up displays at BrazCon, “Brazoria County’s teen comic con and geek-fest!”  This event is run by the Brazoria County Library System and Alvin ISD, and was held at Manvel High School.  Displays included an assortment of models based on comic and superhero themes.

On Feb. 26 two TexLUG-Houston members joined the Needville Middle School Science Night.  MOCs here included a motorized model of an atom, a great ball contraption, and more – see photos below.
